VISIT TO NIAGARA FALLS
My Dear Kush,
We started our journey by car at 7.30AM from Sharon and traversed through the high way ,as shown in previous post. With us ,we have eateries , including " kachori" as we could not like any food item or drink of this place (now we can understand the food problems ,Americans or Europeans face during their visit to India or other Asian countries). After about 4 hr journey ,we side tracked to a service area so that your mausajee may take some rest and we may also retire. After about half an hour we began the journey. Though we witnessed slops , one iron bridge ,but road always remained smooth without any problems .You can imagine the difference from India.
At about 2.30 PM ,we reached to Buffalo town and our hotel . As we were having no other work, we moved to Niagara falls which was only 16 miles away from our staying point. In the rout ,we observed the gigantic river ,Niagara which has originated from Canada . Its water is blue and giving impression as if it is a sea but it is a river with so clear blue water. Soon, we reached to tourist spot which is called Niagara fall state park showing great rush ,all where. We have noted so many Indians as every one visiting this part of America take this place under an important itinerary ; for this reason, there are many restaurants and stalls ,selling Indian food as well as tea (but tea is costing 2.95$ or Rs 180/ per cup) . As in other places, the parking charges differ from 10 to 20$ and you have to find an economic parking yourself. On other side of the river is seen Ontario, Canada and those who are having either visa or Green card may travel the other country ,after travelling 10 minutes distance; there is rainbow bridge to Canada and by crossing this bridge , you land yourself in a different country. To have a close view of the falls ,its important to take a boat which takes you to that site ; as water drops wet you , the journey is nick named as "Maid of the Mist".. For this tour ,we went to visitors center ,purchased five tickets and came to observation tower .Here , the lift made a downward journey and we were placed far below. All of us were provided blue polythene cover to bear as the mist will completely wet the persons. We boarded on a big boat and went on upward side to have a better glimpse of the fall.
It was really a great experience .By all means, the fall is great. First came a fall ,called American falls and after a while more big fall emerged - it is horse shoe falls. There was formation of beautiful rainbow which was very big and moving . I think , this trip took about one hour .Then we visited other places and later crossed the river through American rapid bridge as other side has goat island and beautiful light show. There we could see lighting in Canada's buildings. We were tired (though Ruhan was enjoying ) hence took a trolley and came back to the Park. Here,we searched a good restaurant who served us Indian " thali" which all of us enjoyed and we came back to our hotel at about 10.30 PM .Next day we visited Buffalo university and Niagara town and took some pictures .We started our back journey at about 11.30 AM and reached to Sharon at 6.30 PM
I am attaching the photos in next posting which you will enjoy.
with love and affection,
